Nothing but snow. Beautiful, heavenly snow. Even in summer!

The Senales Glacier (3200 m), 6 cableway minutes from Maso Corto, guarantees snow at any time during the whole year. Magnificently broad, perfectly groomed slopes (35 km) in a beautiful scenery - an unforgettable event for skiers and snowboarders! In addition, 17 km of cross-country skiing tracks in a wonderful scenery. No wonder that the Senales Glacier is a popular training area for many national skiing teams! The Tessa Group Nature Park is the biggest South Tyrolean nature reserve and comprises the entire Tessa Mountain Group, an extensive high mountain scenery between Val Senales (West) and Val Passiria (East). The Val di Fosse in the heart of the nature reserve is considered the South Tyrolean region with the highest number of wild animals. Here, there are more chamois and ibexes than inhabitants in the entire Val Senales! The Merano Alpine Path is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the entire alpine region and leads around the Tessa Group Nature Park, a fascinating natural and cultural landscape.
Hiking the entire trail of almost 100 km takes between 4 and 6 days. There are many spots to climb up to and down from the alpine paths so that you can start or end your hiking trip from whichever spot of your choice. The division of the Alpine Path into a northern and a southern route offers the possibility of hiking on the Alpine Path during different seasons. Juval Castle by Reinhold Messner

The Juval Castle is located on a prehistorical square at the entrance of Val Senales and is the residence of the well-known extreme climber Reinhold Messner who has equipped it with several art collections: an extensive Tibetan collection, a mountain painting gallery and a mask collection with objects from four continents. Pilgrimage church of Madonna

The church has a pilgrimage tradition of more than 500 years. Besides the baroque pilgrimage church, the cemetery around the church, with its elaborate tomb crosses made of copper and bronze by the local artists Friedrich Gurschler and Martin Rainer, is worth a visit.

Certosa (1,232 m)

The village of Certosa invites to a trip to the past. It was built in the walls of the Allerengelberg monastery founded in 1326 and abandoned in 1782. Especially charming: the cloister of the old monastery which serves as an exposition hall for local artists during the summer months.

Sheep round-up

Every year and for centuries, approx. 3200 sheep make their way over the Giogo Alto and the Giogo Basso mountain range to the alpine meadows of the Valley of Vent on Austrian territory. In mid-September, the sheep parade makes the same way back. This traditional event regularly attracts many spectators and reminds of a folk festival.
