At the time of the South Tyrol options, Matthias Gamper chose to emigrate to Austria to take over a farm. However, things went differently. Josef Santner, also called "Vetter Wirt", offers his own farm, having no children to entrust it to. Matthias accepts and stays in Val Senales.
Matthias Gamper bought the farm where he already lived with his wife and two sons Adolf and Matthias.
In 1960 Matthias Gamper died. The rent of the rooms is managed by his eight brothers.
Adolf Gamper, Matthias' eldest son, takes over the facility together with his wife Theresia, also completing some renovations.
A fire burned down the hotel "Schwarzer Adler".
Adolf Gamper reopens the structure, separating it from the farm, as a hotel with 22 rooms and a restaurant.
Adolfs son Armin starts to work in the family business.
Armin Gamper and his wife Elisabeth took over the management of the hotel, renamed "Adlernest."
A major renovation was completed. They added 20 rooms, 7 family suites, a new bar, an elevator and a wellness centre.
Matthias, the eldest son of Elisabeth and Armin Gamper, takes over the Adlernest, and gives it its present appearance.
After several months of construction, the new Adlernest opens shortly before Christmas. Modern rooms and suites, a stylish restaurant and a cozy relaxation room enhance this family hotel.
Finally! A long-awaited dream comes true: with the new "Million Colour Pool“, guests can enjoy first-class bathing fun in the Adlernest.
